Since starting at Glassup & Stoski in early May I have collaborated with Matt, Nick and the team on a number of exciting projects. Working with a vast client list including BubbleBright, Tarox Performance Brakes, Wheelwhores, and Robinson Race Cars the majority of my work so far has focused on creating logos, developing brand identities and producing merchandise designs. The experience is proving tremendously enjoyable and an invaluable insight into the industry!
My first task was to create a double page spread for Forever Surrey in honour of the University of Surrey’s fiftieth anniversary. The university asked for the spread to feature an amalgam of past and present alumni in the collage style of legendary artist Peter Blake in order to create a vibrant and commemorative manifestation for their latest brochure.
"Designing this celebratory spread was a great light-hearted first project that tested my digital skills and I am excited to see it in the final published brochure!"
However, with a great ambition to pursue a career in the field of Sports Design my favourite projects have been those for clients that specialise in motoring and mechanics such as Tarox, Players and Robinson Race Cars. For example, co-creating Goodwood merchandise concepts for Tarox was a hugely rewarding brief. Working with a range of playful slogans such as, ‘Play Hard, Brake Hard,’ Matt and I produced a handful of bold typographic designs for their new apparel. In addition, extending the Players brand, who hope to open a new online shop entitled ‘Players Industries’ in the upcoming months, has been an equally fulfilling project that I have enjoyed getting my teeth into.
Certainly, my time here at Glassup & Stoski is whizzing by quickly and is proving an incredibly valuable experience. Matt and Nick are great fun to work with and clear professionals when it comes to design. It has been a steep learning curve but a terrific experience in which I have harnessed new skills and worked with a variety of well-established clients.
